Heleen is married to Tony and mom to Jean, Terrance, Jason and Christie. She lives with her family in Oregon where they attend City Bible Church.

Heleen was born and grew up in South Africa. When she experienced first hand the healing power of God in her life after struggling with eating disorders for many years, she simply had to tell others about it. She started reaching out to women at her local church and signed up for post graduate studies in Biblical Counseling. Feeling a pressing need to better help the ladies who joined her support groups, she starting delving into the Word of God and studying the field of eating disorders extensively. She lead support groups for women for many years, first in California and now in Oregon where the family currently resides.
